Cards and Quilts

Yesterday (Saturday 12/14/24) I was able to drop off business cards at several locations around town, I’m hoping some of you are here after seeing one! I’d in particular like to call attention to our wonderful local textile and crafting stores such as Sand Creek Quilting, Selkirk Quilts, and Twilight Fiber and Yarn.

Particularly exciting news! The wonderful Sand Creek Quilting worked with me to set up a regular pickup and drop off for sewing scissors and shears. Please follow them to see when more specifics are posted and for all the other wonderful things they do.

Do you sharpen pinking shears? My mom’s pair is something like 80 years old (at least) and has never been sharpened. They have gotten very, very dull. Thanks!

Pinking shears are one that’s going to be a bit of a “maybe” item, so I didn’t include them into my normal pricing. They are a bit more limited in their lifespan for how many times they can be sharpened (which can still be many many times!) and there are certain types of edge damage that can cause them to be not fully repaired.

That said, I would be happy to look at them and see if they are able to be sharpened, especially because I love restoring something with that sort of history! Pricing if they are still able to be sharpened would be similar to a single bevel knife, $2.25 per inch of blade. Would you be able to email (info@slsharpening.com) or text me (208-286-2008) pictures of them? Preferably open view from each side and closed view from top and bottom.

      Thank you!
